Help required (Data display)

Hi,

Does any of you know how extract the data you've entered on a form and update it? i.e. the information i've got of these students are:

sarah
john
emma
karl
chris

what i want to do through a form is display emmas details and update them on the form. Please can anyone advise me on how to do this?
