Hiya

Have large database of companies, over 3.7 million but when trying to paste new records into table get error message now stating "unrecognised database format........etc etc."

Have original table linked but have tried both ways of pasting records and all without success and am now at wits end.

Had considered appending tables alphabetically but that seems rather long winded and wondered if any genius out there had some easy fix as would be great help.:banghead:

Thanks

if it is the right format, then maybe it has got corrupted. take copies before trying anything.

try and import tables to a new database. Try decompiling. is the dbs over 2GB in size?

Hiya Dave

Yes it is just over the 2Gb mark, does that present a problem?

Have taken info into new tables etc and have compacted and repaired on two occasions, still did not work.

Pulling hair out at moment.

Thanks for info.

Best Regards
Ian

it's full. 2Gb limit with Access.

you may lose your data. try and create 2 databases and import some tables into each, to recover the situation.

you either need to delete some data, or upsize to SqlServer/MySQL etc.

You could also split your data into multiple back ends, but you will lose referential integrity between those tables, which may not be an issue.
