Ok so I have a form with a bunch of sub forms all using individual tab indicies and tab stops. Pretty standard. All the tabs work fine until today when I tried to add a new subform. For some reason, all tab settings held equal, when i tab through this subform and get to the last record and hit tab one last time, it erases the data i just typed in all the other fields and starts back at the top. How do I stop this from happening. I'll try to explain better in the uploaded image

Are you sure the data is being deleted? It sounds to me like the display has moved to the next (new) record. Hitting <TAB> in the last control on a form will normally generate the next record (new record if you are in the last record).

I'm sure that Isskint is right, here, you're simply moving to a New Record. To stop this behavior, in Design View for the Form the Subform is based on
  • Go to Properties - Other
  • Change the Cycle Property from All Records to Current Record
  • Save the Form
I'm willing to bet the problem is now gone!

That was it! Thanks guys, can't believe i didn't see that before!

It has a rather cryptic name, and considering the plethora of posts it causes to be placed here and on other Access forums, has an ill-advised Default. I guess in the early days, when data entry was most often done by DP operators, in what we call a 'productivity environment,' it was an advantage.

Good luck with your project!
