Does anyone know how to hide the MS Access DB Icons within the database. I had an MS Access DB that when I held down the Shift Key to open it up, and the database window would display none of the Icons showed up. It looked as if the database had no tables, queries, forms, reports, etc. To get the icons to show again I just click the button at the top of the Database window ("Details") to view the Icons again with their details. Before I clicked this button, none of the options were choosen.

I have fixed the error, but the user is wondering how it could have occured originally.

If anyone has any thoughts or ideas let me know.

Thank you,

T.J.

I discovered recently that you can hide all of your database objects by renaming your table/query names adding "Usys" onto the front so say for example you have a table called contacts, if you renamed this usyscontacts it would then be removed from your database window but you can choose to see them again by going into Tools and options and checking the unhide system objects box

If your talking about the object icons for the objects in the db my guess is that they were hidden and that you unhide them...

I've seen plenty of dbs that had the objects hidden so users couldn't see the objects if the wandered into the db through a shortcut...

Just my 2 cents...

Kev
