hi,
i am presently using the following cirteria in my query to search multiple fields

Like "*"&[Forms]![FormName]![Search]&"*"

this works perfectly for my search.

what i want to do now is ,,
when it performs the search the fields with the search criteria should be highlighted. forexample if i do the search for number 123... in my form if there is any 123 in any of the fields it should highligh it.

further more it should also give me a message of number of records found.

can it be possible.?
.

Any suggestions. any ideas, anything

so many days and not even a single answer

If you are doing "find" with a binocular button you will not get number of records where your 123 value was found. :):) Because you recordset is the same and is not limited by your search,

Surely you can highlight the currently selected field. In design mode of your form where you make your search select all the fields and go to conditional formating. Click dropdown box with "condition1" label, find "if the field has focus, set the way you want it to be formated and here we go.
:)

I doubt that you can highlight the single instances of 123 text withing the TEXT123TEXT. I would think that it will highlight the whole field not just some letters.

As for the query ... surely you can create the field that will count the number of records filter/selected. But in this case I doubt that you can highlight the fields where your string was found
