I have used the & sign on a button called save/ne&w and when I press alt+W it beeps. Thats it all it does is Beep, no error messages, no castostrophic failure of global networks just a stupid BEEP! I have no idea at this point, none. Yes Access you won.... Anyone else have any fight left in them and wanna help me out?

The security settings are allowing stuff.

I discovered this when I had some very unhappy clients complain that they can't use the keyboard anymore.

The way things look, every subsequent version of Access knocks out another highly-used feature without warning.

But think on the bright side, you can make cool shapes with buttons in 2010...

Hi,

By chance is this button placed on a tab control in Access 2010?

Hi Shadow,

Yes, this is a known issue we are currently tracking in Access 2010. It seems that when the hot keys are placed on controls inside a tab control, they are not responding.

Oh, ok. Good to know!

Thanks for the explanation. Has Microsoft documented this somewhere?

Hello,
since the last entry of this thread, quite some time has passed. I found that the problem ist still present. I have Access 2010 with SP2. I can make a more precise statement: If the focus is placed outside of the tab control, then a button inside the tab control addressed by Alt-(char) is working! Can again somebody tell whether the problem will be solved in a future build (or SP)?
Thanks
Lorenzzh
