How big a db can Access handle?

For a class study we are proposing a DB for a vet clinic. We are suggesting the use of Access but the professor thinks Access can't handle it. We are going with 15,000-20,000 transactions per year, tracking clients, pets, treatments, payroll, billing.
I've heard varying stories about how large a load Access can handle before you have to switch to Oracle or something like it. Please give me some info. Thanks.

From my readings at various forums, I understand that a table could handle 1 gig and a single db can handle 2 gig.Seems for the kind of your database size, Access should work fine.
