How do I allow colleagues to input data to the Access database, but at the same time prevent meddling with the database design? Is it possible to password protect some functions but allow others (students/ nurses!) to input data?

thank you

Hi welcome to the Forum,

Which version of Microsoft Access are you using? What you could try is splitting the database, Front End and Back End, place the Back End in a Shared Folder on a Network Drive then give each user a copy of the front end and re connect to the back end.

Hi Trevor
I'm using Microsoft Office professional plus 2010

Thanks for the advice, the terminology is still confusing though!

Try something like this then. Do a google search for splitting an Access 2010 Database and tag YouTube into your search that way you can watch a tutorial on how to do it. Here is a link give you an option
