I have fields that are set to entry equal NO and access automatically fills the background color to a dark gray. It is very difficult to read the data that is displayed in these fields. After trying various things on the property sheet, it seems to take the change, but when I try and display the form, the change does not take effect.

Anyone run into this before??

All thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Jim

Text boxes (I assume your talking about a text boxes on a form) have a Locked property and an Enabled property. If you set the Enabled property to no it will gray out the control like you describe. If you prefer not to have this effect then you can leave the Enabled property set to Yes and set the Locked property to No. This will prevent data entry by users without graying out the control.
