I have written an order processing ms access database program.

It is setup on 2 PC's which is on a wireless network via a router.

The BE and FE is one pc and there is a second FE on the other pc which links to the BE on the first computer via the network.

The program runs fine speed wise on the first pc but is very slow on the second.

Is their a way i can improve the speed of the program over the wireless. Or is it possible to have a second BE on the 2nd pc and somehow synchronise the two BE's.

Thanks

MS Access don't work over wireless....

Hi Uncle Gizmo

It is working just slow.

Any ideas on improving the speed.

Thanx

I believe what Uncle Gizmo refers to is that Access over wireless is a catastrophe waiting to happen. FE/BE splits are more stable when sharing is in the picture. However, if you lose a connection over your network, in essence you are pretty nearly screwed. And the thing about wireless networks is the high probability of losing a connection.

Will it work over wireless? Yes. Will you like it? Probably not. Will it give you heartache? Yes. Do you risk losing the BE to corruption? Absolutely. Do you have good odds on losing the BE to corruption? A near sure bet.
