Hi
I upgraded an older Access app to Access 2010. The old app had custom menus and toolbars.
The custom menus and toolbars now display in the Add-Ins ribbon, but how do I change those menus? Eg if I would like to add a new button on my custom form toolbar?
Under Options -> Customise Ribbon, I can add new ribbons and change existing ones, but I can't add items on my custom toolbar.

Thanks.
It seems like the vba coding as described in the previous post is only for backward compatibility and that they would like to force us to start creating our own ribbons instead of menus. That can be done.
But what is Microsoft's preference for context sensitive (right-click) menu's?
Do they have an alternative for that? Or can that only be created with VBA?

Yup, that's the whole idea. Now I think in 2010 there's a GUI that makes building of ribbons a breeze.

Context menus can only be built using VBA at the moment. I'm not sure of how this is handled in 2010.

Maybe you can build the context menus in an older version and import it into your db via the Import Wizard.

The shortcut menus can also be created with macros.

I hear there's lots you can do with macros in 2010. This time they're trying to move us away from VBA code. Maybe they want to make VBA extinct at some point.

Have you tried creating the menus via a macro yet?

No, don't like Macros. VB just better.
But if I don't have a choice I'll use it for the menus. But only for that...and the other areas where we are forced to use it :-)

OK, now I'm creating a new ribbon and I can add new items to that ribbon, but only items that have been predefined by Microsoft.
How do I add new items that I've made myself to a ribbon?
