How might I auto populate a text box or label?

Hi there,
I am creating a form to help several users input a 1000’s of paper forms; the people who filled in the forms were asked to order images based on which they liked most and the image identifiers (letters F, J, M, O, & W) were hand written in boxes. My form currently works simply by using option groups to input a number 1-5 depending on which box each letter was written in – hopefully the attached will help explain.

My question is though; is it possible to populate a label or text box with the letter that was written on the form so that data enterers can scan the line and see if they have ticked the correct check boxes?

Hoping you can help :)

You will need to use macros or VBA code to accomplish what you want.

I would suggest that your boxes to display the selected values be Labels and that you just set the caption of the appropriate label to the selected letter.

Attached is a little demo database with an unbound form that should show you the functionality.

Each check box on the form had VBA code in the After Update event that puts the selected value in the formatted label.

Many thanks indeed, this has been a great help! For the times when multiple letters were input in each box I actually made 5 small labels within the one large box so they can all appear at once if needed.
Thanks again

It is always encouraging to me when the help I attempt to provide is not only helpful for solving the current issue but it is even more encouraging when I see that you were able to take the assistance and expand it into what you wanted to do.

Good luck with your project.
