How to always keep task pane open

Is there a way to always keep the task pane open? Right now when I open a file from the list on the task pane displayed under OPEN, the task pane disappears when the file opens. Then when I open the task pane again by clicking on the little white sheet of paper icon at upper left for "new", the task pane opens but the recent list of files used has collapsed and I have to click on the little house at top right to display the list of recently used files again so I can open one of them. Is there a way to keep both the task pane and the list of recently used files open at all times? Thanks.

No, you can't leave the task pane open. To have the menus always expand fully, you need to close Access and open Word. For some reason, that's where you control this "feature" and the change affects all Office applications.

Right-click on a gray area in the toolbar.
Choose customize from the bottom of the list.
Check the Always show full menus box.

I opened Word, and in the View Tab under options set it so that the Task Pane is to be open, but that didn't make any difference in keeping the task pane open in Access. Am I supposed to do something else in Word? And do I have to keep Word open when using Access if I want the task pane in Access to remain open? Thanks.

You need to reread my post. I told you that you could NOT leave the task pane open in Access and I gave specific instructions on how to always show all menu items. I don't know where you came up with what you tried but it wasn't from my post.

FYI - in the version of Access (and the rest of Office) currently in early beta, you'll have an ENTIRELY new interface to deal with and task panes are NOT part of it.
