I have an invoice form with an autonumerical Id field.

When the user abort the form filling process the system loose autonumerical sequence.

For example: I have the invoice 1001 in the system, then a new user open the invoice form (1002), start to fill the fields, but before finish close the invoice form. So, if I open again the invoice form, the next folio will be 1003 instead 1002.

Can I prevent to avoid this situation?

Tks in advance!

there are lots of different ways of tackling this, but I would suggest that the best thing to do is to use the autonumber and set the forms so deletions cannot be made - see following topic: http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/ubb/Forum4/HTML/005993.html
The reason I say this is because your invoice numbers SHOULD be sequential, without gaps, unless you want your accountant on your case. You can set a field that adds 1 onto each subsequent record (try using search feature for an answer to this) but I'm not convinced it's such a great way of doing things.
