How to create a column graph

I am using Excel 2007 and would like to create a bar graph to show how many times each item appears in column B. For example how many times apples or pears appears. I dont know what fruit will be in column B but I want to know what fruits are in column B how many times that fruit appears.

How do I do it?

6 months from excel and my mind is blank. a search on Google has shown me how to work out the number of times each fruit appears and get a list of the fruits. Now I thinkl i can create the graph as I think i have the data I need.

Which bit of use a pivot table was confusing?

I have always had problems with the legend and somtimes getting the X and Y axis in he right places, giving the graph a title as well as getting the data in the righ places.... I guess that just about covers all of it.
I now have my graph and have worked out how to count the number of times each fruit appears.
