Hi,

i was wondering if anyone might be able to help me out here. I've been spending hours but to no avail. It seems to be a very trivial problem but i'm just out of luck.

I've been getting this pop-up message everytime i try to open up an access application such as .mdb files.

Open file - Security Warning
Do you want to open this file
...
two buttons: Open & Cancel

My question is if there is a way to turn it off or disable this warning from popping up when opening an access application.

Thank you in advance

Thank you boblarson for your reply.

Please find the attached jpg file - access.jpeg that contains a print-screen photo of the warning.

No, I'm still getting that screen.

This access application is not obtained from the internet. I have also adjusted the macro security from medium to low and still getting this pop-up message everytime i try to run any access applications.

Thank you in advance

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for your reply.

Sorry i could not find the button "unblock" under properties. There are two tabs - general and summary. And there is no button "unblock" under the general tab.

But i'm not sure if this is to do with where the file sits on. The Access file(.mdb) resides on the machine that runs on microsoft SBS 2003. But i tried it with another computers and they have no problem with opening the file. They don't get the security warning screen as attached in the last post.

Thank you in advance

I see no resolution for you yet. I wonder if it is because MS Access is not installed on the server, therefore doesn't associate the mdb extension with a program.

If you go into the VBA editor, you can digitally sign the code (Under Tools on the menu bar). I believe there are other steps to the process...(I've done it here on my PC) but I cant remember it all. I'm sure a google search for digital sign vba can point you in the right direction

In Access 2003 when you open a database and a popup message similar to your appears there is a tick box that can be ticked to say "always trust this application" or a similar message. When you open the database again the message does not appear.
