How to give command to multiple controls in a form

Greeting all!
I am making an a form for set meal ordering~ say set meal #1 provides a choice of 3 out of 10 starters. I created 10 input boxes for user to enter 1, 2, ~ but how can I disable any further input if 3 starters are chosen already??? Of course, the chosen items must be editable.:banghead:

I would have thought you have a pre-defined set of starters that the user can choose from hwong? It would be much simpler to check if you had 10 checkboxes.

But if I use checkboxes (tick or empty?) I cannot provide a choice that selecting 2 starter of same type.

How about a multi-select listbox?
