trying to make a tabbed form, but it will only allow one tables content on the form. how can i get multiple table fields on the different tabs? e.g emplyee work details (table 1) is on one tab and employee home details (table 2) is on a second tab.
any help would be appreciated. thanks.

your form needs to have a query as a control source. The query containing those 2 tables. Should work then.

That all depends on whether it is an updateable query or not. The query would have to be based on a one-to-one relationship and if it isn't a one-to-one relationship then you need to use a form/subform setup. The main form could have the one table as its recordsource and then on another tab you could have a linked subform to handle the many side of a one-to-many relationship.

You can also put SubForms on your tab pages and each SubForm can be bound to a different query.

I'm not following you Bob.... I have just started a DB that I use a tabbed form on... I'll attach... the query for the form has 6 tables. Five related to one on a one to many.... Hey! now don't critique the DB yet! I just started it... I know it needs alot of editing! :)

Some very nice advice here. Thank you ever so much guys. I have opted for subforms.

the tabs have been created. the subforms are positioned in exactly the same position on each screen but it is very jumpy when i alternate each tab.

It can be that way because each subform, regardless of the size of the control that houses it, CAN be different sizes during runtime. You just have to play with them to adjust accordingly. If you want, you can post the db here and we can try to assist with that, if you find you just can't get it.

Thanks, here it is. The form is called "Full Form".

Okay, your problem is that you sized the subforms themselves too big. All you need to do is to size them to fit their controls. Then, you can put the subform on the main form and adjust the subform container control to how you want.

See the attached with changes. You can open each individual subform to see how I sized it and then look at the form with everything and it appears to be fine now.
