How to prevent Office 2010 opening

Since adding a listview control to my Office 2007 database, when opening it I get a dialog saying Office 2010 Preparing to install. I can cancel it (and my db runs ok) but it's a pain. It started when I added listview from "Insert Active X control).
I don't use Office 2010, having bought it to update, but never did.

Perhaps I should uninstall it? Except I have no idea where/what the serial key is if I ever want it again.

Can I get around this anyhow ? Like disable it without un-installing or find the key somehow ?

Well, further to the above, I found what was needed so uninstallled Office 2010. Had to reboot a couple of times, and now my Office 2007 won't run !!!
It tells me "Can't find project or library" in VBA code.

Googling for a fix says to Click tools then Visual Basic in the Macro Group.
Under Tools, I have Macros, but no "Visual Basic". In fact they look like my macro names.
Am I in the right place ?
