I have to know from you guy one thing that how to protect my formula from editing.
As when we are on the go of editing values very speedly, uncautionsly we also edit the formula bar. As I know how apply again the formula. but some laymen in office dont know.

I have tried to protect with following option used to protect a particular range supplied by us. But it didnt stop us from editing. or pop-up on these ranges.(Want to protect column E)
By following option.
Tools->Protection->Allow user to edit ranges

Can someone guide me how to protect desired ranges.

Attached the example. try on that.

Hi,

All cells are protected by default

Select cells you do NOT want to protect.

Right click

Format cells

Protection

Uncheck protected box > Ok

Next go to tools > Protection > protect

Only check "select unlocked cells"

Enter password > Ok > Enter password > OK

Example attached

Thanks qafself!

Thats great. That option usage was searching from years and had talked to many gurus but they didnt know.

The think you told me about to change the default state of sheet worked out.

After that it will also working with the
Tools->Protection->Allow user to edit ranges

& unprotecting the sheet it pop-ups for password also.

By your method on unprotecting it didnt prompt for password.

Anyway its great.
