 I want to design a database which can search the content of PDF files, how can I realize that?

I don't think its possible as a pdf file is basically a postscript image in a proprietary adobe format.

You would need an intermediate step involving acrobat or illustrator I'd imagine. Distill out the text and export it into a format access could import.

There may be other ways around, but none that I can see.

I know what you mean, but one of the features of Acrobat 6.0 Pro is that it can "convert paper documents to compact, searchable digital files", and I got some information from other sources that said with Acrobat, the paper-based document can be scanned and converted to a tagged file which can be searched by screen readers, does that mean its content can be searched in the database? I just don't know how to do it.
