How to start CrystalReports from the command line??

Dear All,

Is there a way to start CrystalReports from the command line??

How can i do that?? Need u'r helping hand!!

yep, should be pretty easy.

It's just the path to the executable (exe)

for example (from root)

c:\>cd program files\next folder\etc\etc
>crw32.exe

What i need is not the application exe. i should be able to execute a report created using cristal reports whch is saved in a local directory.

the problem is report is saving as .RPT format is it???

Are you talking about typing it into a command (cmd) window or using Access or something else to open it up?
 
I created a report named Report1 and saved it to my C:\Temp folder and just ran this from my command line and it opened just fine:

C:\Temp\Report1.rpt

But the problem is report will execute based on a given parameter.
can i pass a command line parameter eg: student_no to the report.. how can i do that.

based on the parameter i passed, student details will retrieve

I don't know if that is possible. Sorry, you're out of my range of experience on that one.
