Hi everybody; Need help to fast track using html help workshop (HHWS) with Access 2002; STUCK!!

I created a .hhp file using HHWS with 1) .htm top file and 2) a 2 keywords index (.hhk); there were no toc (.hhc), no text file for pop-up, no header file (.h) & no text popups section.

This file was complied ok into a .chm file & then tested Ok or view Ok within HHWS ie the 2 keywords were shown on the left keyword pane while the main help .htm text were on the right pane of hh.exe window.

QUESTIONS??

1) Then in Access, a form's properties was assigned 1) Helpfile pointing to the correct path of the .chm file 2) HelpContext ID set to 0. On running the form and then pressing F1, it only display the default access help. WHY????

2) Changing HelpContext ID to 1, on pressing F1 as above, the following message was displayed "HH_Help_Context called without a [MAP] section" plus a blank Access help window. I have a feeling that it has something to do with the text popup but has no energy to tinker further as the learning curve for HHWS is quite steep. :D

Please don't tell me to use another program after having spending a few days tinkering with it; so do help out. THANK YOU.

Solution Found: Period

Hi everybody
The solution to my problem is found in the following article / address
support.microsoft.com/kb/296231.

It the article outline the creation of sample HTML Help file by the following steps:

1. Create two HTML files: one for the form and one for the control.
2. Create a map file to define the context IDs.
3. Create an alias file that associates each topic ID with a topic.
4. Compile these files in HTML Help Workshop into a single compressed HTML file (*.chm).
5. Add the path to the HelpFile property of a sample form.
6. Assign context IDs to the form and to a control on the form.
7. Test the form.
The result is a form in which you can press F1 while in a particular text box to receive a Help topic specific to this text box. When you press F1 anywhere else on the form, the form-specific Help topic is displayed.

Hope this help those who face the same problem is using HTML Help in Access. Cheers!!:)

Personally, I like using Help Scribble. It's way easier than anything I've found out there and it is very reasonably priced. But the big thing is that it is so freakin' easy to use, I just love it.
