Hyperlink "record is too large"

Hi guys, I'm new in this forum and I must say I am also a novice Access 2007 user.
Here is my problem, I have imported a database from excel, and I would like to change the format of a few fields from text to hyperlink but everytime I tried I got this error message "record is too large". I have tried to change the format of this fields while importing them, but it has always resultet in a failed attempt to import...

Any ideas why it is happening it used to work fine until I updated my database and add a few more fiels...

there's a 255 char limit on types which are 'text', change it to memo?
