Hi all,

Is is possible to create a hyperlink on a custom ribbon to open a pdf document? I want to link to some documentation for the database.

I know that I can create a hyperlink in a table and I could have the users open a form that would allow them to select different hyperlinks and read the doc, but I thought it would look better on the ribbon.

Also, if this can be done, is it possible to have a pull-down list on the ribbons for more than one hyperlink?

Thx!

If I don't get any suggestions here, I thought I'd tell you all how I got around this in case anyone wants to link documentation to their apps. It might not be the best way, but it works rather nicely.

1. Created my help documents in Word and saved them in PDF format - I didn't want Word to spawn upon clicking documentation.

2. Uploaded the PDF docs to a SharePoint site.

3. I created a new table in my Access application with two fields in it. One is the hyperlink and the other is a text field.

4. I added one row for each PDF documentation file that I pasted into SharePoint. I included the hyperlink to SharePoint and a brief description of what is in help document.

4. Created a custom continuous form to display the rows I created in #4.

5. Add an icon on my ribbon in my Access application to open the form.

The form displays all of my documentation in sorted order and allows the user to hyperlink to it.

I liked this solution because I don't have to include the PDF documents when I distribute my front-end database to my users who are all in a closed network and everyone has permission to the SharePoint site.
