Hyperlinks

hi there,

I have a form with a field that uses a hyperlink data field as it's control source. When this form is put into action, this field displays the entire address of the link.

ie. the field may be something like:

c:\My Documents\.......\text.doc

I don't want the entire address to display like this on the form. How can I just have something like "Electronic Version" as my link, and the actual address working in the background.

Press F2 when you are in the text box and type this line in.

Electronic Version#c:\My Documents\.......\text.doc#

If you'd like to change all records this way, you have to use Update Query or Recordset to help you out, like this.

UPDATE YourTableNameHere SET YourTableName.YourHyperLinkFieldName = "Electronic Version" & [YourTableName].[YourHyperLinkFieldName];
