All I did was right click on a field and selected the Equals (what ever was in the field) I got the error and then it sorted the DB anyway. So it worked but why am I getting this message?

thanks

It would be helpful if you can give us a little more information.

Which version of Access?
What were you actually trying to do?
What actually happened?

2007

I right clicked on the field and selected Equals(the value in the field)

I wanted all the records with that value in the field

I get the same error no matter which field I try to sort on
