I have been very proud that I made a nice and perfect access 2003 system. However, as there are some users who work on access 2007 platform, I made another copy of my system by using the convert to 2007 utility of the Access 2007.

However, conversion was successful BUT may problems start arising when I run the new 2007 version as there are big difference between the 2003 and 2007.
To solve this,Some people advised me to run my system 2003 copy in all the cases even if the platform is Access 2007 by using the Access 2003 developer tool, which before run automatically installing the Access 2003 run-time event if the used platform is Access 2007.

Does this is achievable?

Please advise.

Thanks,

I believe Access 2007 can run a 2003 project directly. Have you tried it?

Dear RuralGuy, Thanks very much for reply.

Do you mean that the Access 2007 will not first convert the 2003 application to 2007 then run it?

I'm pretty sure that is correct. I'd better load 07 and give it a try before I get too much egg on my face.

My testing shows it works just fine. It looks a little different because it is 07 but it does not try and convert the mdb. In my case the mdb was in ac2000 format.

BTW, if you actually *must* convert, I've heard that Importing everything is better than using the built in converter in 07. Less prone to errors.

Thanks again Mr. RuralGuy for your effort to hep me.

The problem arised with me when converting or opening with 2007 without converting are:

1. In 2003, the option "Show in Windows taskbar" works properly. Here in 2007 even if I put it in the code as application.setoption "ViewWindowsinTaskbar",1 doesnt affect the problem. I also go to the 2007 Access Options and set the tried both options: Overlaaped documents or tabbed documents. Both Doesnt Work.
I need to use these options so the user see both report generated at one time by a form, at the taskbar so he can switch between them.

2. In 2003, the Application Icon option works properly. I can show the icon I want at the left side of the title bar of the application. In 2007, the application icon appears for a moment then fastly disappear, and instead of this icon, the office system icon appears instead of it.

I dont know if there are some updates/batches I should run to fix the 2007 bugs??

I'll appreciate if you continue assisting me.

Thanks,

Problem #1 is a known issue and I know of no work around at this time. As for #2, there is SP1 for Office 2007 available and a HotFix is also out. I do not know if it addresses the issue you have but they should be applied anyway.
Here's a link to the HotFix.
