I think I need a query

I need to get the result of a query (i think) and then use that date to popluate another table. I have a combo box and want to get the ID from a table that matches the combo box and be able to use that ID when adding data to another table. Any help would be very useful, I know access can do this but feel like :banghead: not knowing how!!

You can use the OpenArgs portion of the OpenForm Method to pass information between two forms.

Thanks for the reply. I do appolgise but wasnt able to open the zip as where I work are a bit anal about files and stuff like that. Also sorry if I'm being a bit dumb.
I have created a query but the criteria needs to access what is selected in the drop down box ie = form(session)dropdown box(Session Title) and then need to access the data in other corrosponding fields from the query. Does that make sense??
