I have a few clients using my Access Apps quite heavily, and they're asking what would happen if I went 'offline' unexpectedly. I'm also not many years from retirement age. Anyone near North Nottinghamshire U.K. who could / would want to pick up where I left off? It would be good to have an arrangement in place....

Why not have an agreement in place where you simply hand over the source and documentation to your respective customers. You're going to have to have your databases well documented in any case.
The point is, when the time comes you need to be in a position where you can hand over with the minimum of hassle. You being responsible for organizing another reputable 3rd party is just hassle particularly if they don't perform well and also that could be an ongoing exercise.
You could also get another 3rd party (or customer) to buy the products and rights from you and maybe you provide support for an agreed time.
