Hi,
I'm doing *something* wrong here. What I need to do seems simple enough, but I can't seem to write the code correctly.
When my form opens, I need it to check the date/time in a certain field and if it is over 48 hrs, pop up a messagebox indicating this. BUT... This is only valid if there is an entry in a later operation field. If that field is blank, I don't want the 48 hour check to matter.

I have gotten the 48 hr check to work just fine, but I can't figure out how to add the instruction for checking for a value in the other box. Here's the if statement so far:

If Me.txtDateFeed > DateAdd("h", 48, [4DateStopTime]) Then
Call MsgBox("Primer has Expired. Initiate a New Doc Card", vbOKOnly)
lblExpired.Visible = True
End If

Any way I have tried to add the rest, I get error messages in the code window. How and where do I add the and isnull(5LotNum) part (or whatever it may be)??
Thanks in advance!

Code:
If IsNull([5LotNum]) Then
Exit Sub
Else
If Me.txtDateFeed > DateAdd("h", 48, [4DateStopTime]) Then
Call MsgBox("Primer has Expired. Initiate a New Doc Card", vbOKOnly)
lblExpired.Visible = True
End If
End If

Of Course!
I will give it a go as soon as I get back to work.
Thanks so much! You Rock!

well I do have to look after a fellow bass player and biker ;) what do you play / ride?

Col

Toys

I ride a Honda Goldwing 1800 - a big bike for a big girl with power galore! :D
My basses are almost all Fender and G&L. Although I did get an Ibanez Acoustic-Electric for Christmas that is really sweet and mellow. It's nice to be able to just sit in the living room and play "unplugged," but it's also got a Fishman bridge pickup that is absolutely fantastic.

How 'bout you?

I ride a Honda 650 and try to tour round Europe every year in sept / oct time. I usually go to Spain / France. I've also got a little 125cc Honda scooter that I whizz round on and that gets through town traffic no probs.

I have 2 basses, a Fender Jazz which is a 1962 repro with the chrome pickup covers, colour sunburst and really looks the biz. And I have a Rickenbacker 4003 midnight blue, fabulous sound, thats my favourite. I play bass in a local orchestra. I also have a 5 piece set of drums that I play in a rock band, but I'm planning to give that up this year.

I'm trying to master the 6 string guitar now  I have a Fender Strat but not very good at it yet and I don't think I ever will be but its fun trying.

Sounds like a great pair of bikes. You've got one for any mood. :)
Man - I love Jazz basses. I've seen pictures of the '62 RI - very nice! The covers kick butt.
I've got an '83 and the '75 RI. It's got the block markers (MOTS on Maple) but no covers. I've considered buying a pair and putting them on, but I hate to drill holes in that beautiful natural finish...

Nice to see fellow bass players on here. I play a mexican Jazz with EMG-J pickups @ 18v.

fairly cheap bass, but it feels so nice, and plays so well. my band is

www.thiscrookedmile.ca

you'll see reference to me moving to the UK if you check it out. I also played in various jazz bands at university.

what kind of music do you play?

also, have you checked out www.talkbass.com?

If you say so CJ ;) I presume thats an American phrase that means they're cool ;) You need to get the covers CJ - its naked without them

and here's another!!! thats good Miloth - looks like the bass players are "coming out" I agree the jazz is good but once you've played the Rickenbacker. . . . . absolute heaven. . . .

BarryMK is also a bass man. Maybe us bass persons should have a thread in the watercooler to discuss basses and bass guitar (and 6 string) issues?

I play bass in an orchestra so most of my playing at their gigs is pretty tame stuff. I play along at home to any records that have a good bass line I can learn. (I'm not too skilled at it to be honest  )

I'll check out your website later

Yes - you got the gist of "Kick Butt" :D

If you want to fall in love with a bass, you've gotta try a G&L! Talk about sweet! Quality, asthetics, and tone - what more could you ask for?? Do yourself a favor and test drive one sometime.

I've got a few different bands/projects going. Here are a few links:
Don't Harass Betty - Original rock, pop, and blues. 5-piece, all-girl band.
The Pushovers - Classic rock and blues; 4-piece with 2 killer lead guitar players.
and Stories of Mary - Original 80's-ish pop sometimes bordering on "the darker side." 4-piece, all-girl.
I actually play rhythm guitar instead of bass in Stories of Mary.

Each site has links to streaming audio via Garageband.com if you're feeling bored. :p

Thats good CJ - nice pics too. I'll check out the G&L. Wasn't that the company Leo Fender set up after CBS took over Fender? (I may be wrong)

Shouldn't you be asleep now?

Thanks! Cool - you've seen how goofy I look and you're still talking with me!
:p LOL! Yes - G&L is (was) Leo's last company. The initials represent "G"eorge Fullerton and "L"eo Fender. I'm not sure if George is still alive or not...
As for the sleeping thing... I am one of those zombie-like graveyard shift workers. I work from 11:30pm EST until 7am, so when you're just getting started, I am on lunch break.

Nice site! Looks like your band keeps you pretty busy. :) I think I've been to talkbass.com but I'll have to check back in.
