I am trying to use an access (2002) database with Imaging software to scan. I have the Kodak Image Scan Control on the form and I am trying to reference the select scanner property using 'Me![ctlScan].ShowSelectScanner' (where ctlscan is the name of the control). This brings up the error 'Object doesn't support this property or method', but when I go to design view the imaging software opens. Any ideas?

Thanks for your help!

Just to throw a spanner in to the works at this stage, what operating system are you planning on using now and in the future?

Kodak imaging for windows is int available in Windows XP, though you can extract the files from Windows 2000 and install them manually legally I don't think its legal. If anyone knows any different I'd be glad to hear as it would make a current project a whole lot easier.

In XP you are encouraged to use WIA (Windows Image Aquisition). Version 2 is avialable from the microsoft website and I'm trying to make it work at the moment Any advice on this would be welcome.

If you want to use Kodak Imaging activeX the attached may be useful to you

I am using Windows XP, office XP and eistream Imaging which is the same as the one that was previously bundled with Windows.

I have the checked the links, both databases are the same and they bring up the same errors.

Check your vb references. Yours has "Image edit control" which is missing on my PC.

The example posted has

Kodak image scan control
Kodak image admin control
Kodak image edit control

which are part of the kodak imaging for windows program

Thank you very much, that has resolved the error. It's always something so simple.

Imaging for Windows not in XP

Imaging for Windows the Kodak/Wang product included in Windows since Windows 95 is NOT included with Windows XP.

Whilst it is possible to copy the Windows 2000 version into Windows XP this is of doubtful legality.

The licence to use the product terminated with Windows 2000.

To use http://www.alliancegroup.co.uk/Imaging-for-Windows.html in Windows XP you now must purchase the product.
It is compatible with the version in Windows 2000 and now includes Optical Character Recognition (OCR).

It is available in the UK and europe from:
