Import help urgently needed

HI everyone

I have a database at work that someone has designed in the form of a massive flat table! It works fine but the person using it has to continously overwrite data in it so we have decided to make this database relational. I have redesigned the database to comprise of many tables but I am now stuck with how to get the data from one large table to 5 small tables!! There must be an easy way but I just do not know what it is or where to start.
Can anyone help please???
