Hi,

How can I get Access to recognise Lotus 123 files for importing the data into it.

In the drop down window that appears only the following are available:

Mcrosoft Access(*.mdb:*adp**.*mde:*mde.......) [and more that I can't see!]

Lotus 1-2-3(*.wk*)

Test Files (*.txt;*.csv;*/tab;*.asc)

and so on............

Now for some reason Access is not recoginising the version of Lotus 123 I am using.

How do I get Access to recognise all versions of Lotus 1-2-3.

Your aaistance is appreciated.

John

John if you are using Office 2003 you can use the File menu and Get External data this will allow you to import Lotus 123 spreadsheets.

If this doesn't work send a reply to your thread.

Also check out the MACRO side for TransferSpreadsheet.

The older versions of access required you to select all objects when installing Office to get all of the file import/export types.

Hi Trevor G,

Thanks for the response, That's the method I use to import data, I'm using Access 2000, having read the other post from ghudson, it would seem that upon installation not all file types were selected. I guess I'll need to refer back to our IT Department to see if they can do something about that.

I also tried the macro route, which provided more 123 file type options, but access couldn't find my file.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

John
