Please help,
I have a database. I am the only user. When I open it by clicking on the file, I have no problem. When I close out of it, it closes and the .ldb file disappears (which is what it suppose to do) but if I go to reopen it, I cannot. Clicking on the file will not execute or open it. The .ldb file reappears and cannot be deleted. The only way to get rid of it is to restart my PC. After that, I can then open it, but I do not want to restart my PC every time I need to open up my file. Are my permissions not set up correctly? This happens regardless of where the file is located - on the network or on my(stand alone) laptop. Nobody else uses it or accesses it. How does it lock me out when I was just using it a minute ago?
Does anybody know what I need to change in the settings or permissions, etc? Thank you for your help.
P.S. This started happening when my file was moved to a new laptop and a new server (novell). I'm thinking it has something to do with how the account was set up and the permissions it was set to? I have 2 identicle laptops, I can click in and out of the application 10 times in a row and get not get locked out but on the second laptop, like I said above, I get locked out trying to enter it a second time after exiting it just once.
