Incrementing numbers in a query

hi there, I have a query (funnily enough) of around 175 records, i would like to give each record a number starting at 300. But i cant be bothered to do it manually. I know tables have auto numbers, but how would i get this done in a query?

You could add the autonumber field to the table and include that field in the query. Then take a look at this article: How to Use an Append Query to Set Initial Value of an AutoNumber Field .

You can also calculate a running sum in a query using techniques listed on this site: Roger's Access Library . Choose your version of Access and look for the download sample with the name that starts "NumberedQuery...".
