My table has a phone number field that has an input mask for the ( ) and dash. I want to print labels with the name and phone number on them. The ( ) and dash do not print on the labels. How can this be fixed? I know if I type in the parentheses and dashes in my table it works, but I want to use the input mask if possible.

It should work. I have an input mask on my table and have generated a report from this. When I view the report the brackets are included. Have u got any more details ?

When you run the wizard to set up the input mask, you need to tell Access to store the data with the symbols in the mask (step 3). Otherwise, you will only be storing the actual numbers, and the symbols will only show up in the user interface.

If you don't use the wizard, the "Input Mask" property should be set to:

!\(999") "000\-0000;0;_

This will make the symbols show up in reports.

Changing the input mask property will not affect records already in the database, only future records. So, if you want the data you already have to show up with the symbols, you would have to re-enter it.

You should be able to put the input mask on the field in the report so the phone numbers will print with the same mask. In the report's design view, select the phone # field, open the properties and see what the Input Mask property says. If it's blank, put the mask in and you should be set.
