Hi Gang! I'm trying to add graphs to a db to help display scrap/rework totals on a week by week basis. The query works absolutely fine but when I try to add a graph to a blank form in design view, I get a pop-up "Installing Components". This takes about 2 minutes EVERY time I try to do anything with the graph - from Design to Form view and back again. I don't remember this ever happening before. Is it me?

PS I'm running Access 2003 - if it makes any difference! My colleague reckons I've broken it!!

Hi,

Perhaps I'm wrong but I didn't think you could create a graph in the forms view, I've always created them in the reports view and never had any problems.

May I suggest you try creating your graph in a report.

I've successfully used graphs on a form before but have not run across that particular issue, sorry.

You might check to see if anyone in your org has recently installed a new service pack for windows or office, as that might be one possible cause.

The last service pack or update was back in June; service pack for Office 2003. I've looked at what Microsoft say it does and there's nothing related to MSGraph in there - or so it looks!
I'm now ripping my hair out as I can't load a form or report with a graph on them inside 3 minutes!!
Are there any other ways to put graphs onto forms?
BTW Excel charts/graphs work exactly as they did before so I'm fairly certain that it's Access - or my colleague may be right; I just broke it!:)

If you can upload a zipped sample db (strip out any sensitive data but leave in enough to have data to show in the graph), someone with AC2003 might have a look at it and see if the problem manifests for them also. You'll need to provide some idea as to which form you're having issues with.

Otherwise, the best I can suggest is to completely uninstall and reinstall office on your computer.
