Intercept toolbar/ribbon button's click

Hi, anyone managed to intercept a toolbar or ribbon button's click?
I need to change the default behaviour of the Datasheet View button.

Not sure that will get me there, but an interestimg technique any how.

Not sure either. The only thing I could think of is to create your own custom ribbon.
