Dick, I think the wording of your comments (not you in any way) hint at something more sinister.

Example.

"Once for my two week vacation, I took a young boy from my church. . . ."

"They match up young boys from ghettos with men to do things with them. . . "

It just struck me as odd in these trying times for young vulnerable people.

Well for one thing the 14 year old boy on vacation to Baseball Hall of Fame incident was almost 30 years ago, the boy at the NY World’s Fair is almost 50 years ago, so public opinion was a slight bit different. The Hall of fame boy was all under the supervision of my church. (Baptist) His mother was unwed and cried because she had been praying that someone would befriend her son. Also he had to earn this trip. He had to have improvement behavior with his Mom. He had to do choices around the church. The night before we left he stayed at our house and had to help my wife with the dishes and other choirs. It was a win/win situation all around. The two boys had a changed life afterwards. The trips were not the sole reason but it no doubt helped. There may be a difference the way British look at things than we do in American. Regardless of how others would look at it, I would not change good outcome for what others think. My only regret is that I haven’t done more.

Here is another part of my life were I was escorting young girls (not proud of) in England, Scotland, and other countries. If you will go to the 1961 / 1965 section you won’t find my name but I was there none the less.

As I said, it was your wording that appeared sinister. Your motives were excellent and I'm sure all benefitted from your actions.

By the way, I had a brief flirtation with the baptist church years ago, but don't remember anyone doing choices for the church, what is that?

Also, every summer we have a series of French teenage girls staying with us to learn English and experience English life, that can be very rewarding too. So I sort of understand where you're coming from.

(choices) I like your humor. Intent and content is more important to than grammar and spelling, as there a lot of things I have lost in old age, so thank God for spell checkers. That's the word my spell checker picked, so who am I to argue. BTW is there a difference between British spell checker and American spell checkers. :D You do know the meaning of intent, right? That is were you go to get out of the rain when camping.:D
Also church choices is were you choose to do right.:D
