Hello I would like to know about using MS Access to invoice.

Any advice or any person that currently runs invoicing from there database I would like to here from you. Basically I work for a Courier company and would like to invoice from my database at the end of each month.

I would like to hear from anyone that already has invoices running from there database and has it working well.

Please help me I have a basic idea but would like some pointers

Oh yeah before I go I would like to know if CODE has to be used when designing a database????

I have no idea where to add these codes and I would like to know about them. Is there any info on the web about these CODES i keep reading about on here?? I would appreciate any info anyone has on these CODES. If I don't have to use them let me know however if anyone out there thinks that I should learn about them cos I will come into contact with them at some point during my database experience.

HELP ME PLEASE!!!!

THanx Everyone, AND Please please please please help me.

Here's a start.

Nice one for that link. Just been there loads of info if you got the money to spend (which I haven't experiencing a bit of Xmas skintness at the mo) but will check it after Xmas for definite.

Nice one if you have any other Access information websites I would love to visit them. Let me know yeah!?!

When I first started looking for info on the web about using Access I got a load of websites trying to sell me their services. Wanting to build me a database and BOY!!! have you seen the prices they charge?? Its extortionate.!!

My boss had a man in here the other day asking for £5000 for a customised database designed especially for couriers. It would've been good to have but half of the stuff on there would never be put to use ya get me??

He said it was a more complicated and Fancier version of what I have already designed him.

Any way thanks again for the info link and like I said if you have anymore links (FREEBIES preferably) knocking around in your head I would love to take them on!!! :p
Before I go any one got any advice about invoicing on access cos thats what I really want to know aboutl Someone must have invoicing on their own databases so could someone please give me some ideas please on how best to go about invoicing.

I wanna generate invoices
Thanx again mate!!!

The Orders sample db that ships with Access already has an invoicing example, although somewhat limited it's a good place to start

If you are looking for some books for reference see http://www.developershandbook.com/ . These guides have helped me IMMENSELY!!

Also, what that developer is charging is not out of the possibilty. It may or not be a fair price depending on what the application entails. It takes a lot of time to design and have a database that works well. At most developer rates that is 2-4 weeks worth of work time. Also, keep in mind that having a professional doing the design can result in less time and cost overall.

I'm sure that you will find that to just create a database out of nothing and have it work effectively is not as easy as creating a word document.

Access is a very powerful tool and with any powerful tool there can be quite a steep learning curve, but the results are well worth it!

I wish you good luck and success with your application and access.
