Is it possible to link external file again when database is ready and the source file has been moved to other location?
And going farther -> is it possible to create some kind of dialog wich prompts user to point the external file as linked?

Thanks!

Do you mean linking to the backend of a database, which may change location from time to time?

I've uploaded an example in Access 2000.

The first form to load should be the 'startupform', which will check if the location of the backend database has changed. If it has, then the 'pathform' will allow the user to browse to the backend and re-link the database.

In this case once the database has been linked 'FrmMainTable' will open.

When I rightclick on the linked table there is a thing called Linked Table Menager
and there is a check box 'Allways prompt for new location'.That seats me fine but doesn't
work.
In my opinion if this check box is selected every time the database is open Linked Table Menager is expected to prompt user to select destination file.
But when I open my database nothing like this happens. I have to open manualy Linked table Menager .
How Can I make Linked Table Menager atomatically open when user opens database?
