I have a report that prints based on the current record showing on the New Provider form/subform. This is working alright so far and the only trouble I am having is getting the "Newest" provider number (from the subform data) to show in the "Provider Number" unbound text field. I have attached a pic so that you can better understand what I am trying to do.

If you look at the pic you will see I have been able to get the "Provider Number" to show data from the subform, (0000010) but I need it to show the most recent number obtained in that field (Red "Provider Number" field. So it should be showing: "000001003" NOT "0000010".

Is it possible to do this and if so can someone please help me figure out how?

Thanks.

Given the number you specify is clearly a text field, then if you re-design your underlying table to use an autonumber field, which will of course progressively increase with each record, you could sort your report records to be in descending order of this new field.

For the purpose of the numbering for this database I have to stay away from autonumbering and use the DMax function. I was able to get it to work. After looking at it some more it is in fact pulling the newest record and showing that in the provider number field on the report. I just needed to move the code to a different section of the report.
