Issue in copying the report.

I created a report based on a query and it works fine. Then I need another report based on another query. I copied first report and changed the record source. Both queries are same just differing by one criteria. When I open the second report, it ask to enter date. Why? I can create a new report but want to learn from where it is affecting.

PS:I have asked grouping Date by Month.

When you create a report this way, the new report is "looking" for the field names that you had in the previous report and query. Perhaps you did not change all the field names in the new report.
It could also be that the grouping/sorting in the new report is still refering to a field that you had in the previous report/query, but it is not in the new report/query.
