Keep format

Hi there!

I am wondering if it is possible to send a report as xls file and keep the format exactly as the report looks.

When I try to send it now, it automatically changes back to the column names from the table, which I in the report have changed and want to keep in my excel output!

I'm pretty sure that is not possible.
A good reason is:
In your report you have NOT change the columns (in fact the fields) names. You have only change some labels captions.

Hats off to you, that is correct..
Do you know if it is possible to hide a column but still have it as a sorting column for the table?

If you mean... in query, of course. Uncheck that check box that appear under the Criteria row.
Is this what you are looking for ?

On the other hand, sometimes is not possible to do this in query.
So you must do this in Report. But is very hard to achieve this:
You should select the control for that column, then to press Delete on your keyboard. Of course that you will wish to remove also the label, so you need to repeat the procedure for the label. Very very hard .

Another way to do this in report is to hide the control by setting its visibility to No in the Property Window.
