Keeping group header with details

Hi

I have a snaking report which works as I want it to. The only problem is that I have a group header which may have more than 1 detail with it, and if there isn't room for a detail record at the bottom of the column, I want the header to move to the next colunm as well as the first detail record.

At the moment I am getting a heading at the bottom of a column and the first detail record at the top of the next in some cases.

Can I force the header to stay with the first detail record.

Hi,

This has been troubling me too as I had headings right at the bottom of a page with the details split onto the next page - but I have found the solution!

The following will ensure that the heading will be forced to the next page if if the first lot of detail doesn't fit on the same page:

* In report design view, go to the menu View > Sorting and Grouping

* Select the grouping level you are interested in.

* In the "Keep Together" option, choose "With First Detail"

I realise this is a bit late for your original post but I have only just come across your post and I hope this solution might help other people too. It is my first every post to this forum - I have found the forum IMMENSELY helpful and hope to put something back in!
