Last Three Records

I would like to display the last three or more records entered in from a table to be displayed in a report. I tried using the =last function, but that only brings up the last record entered in,.
Any Help oh this would be great.

Create a query and sort it so the most recent record is first etc. In the query properties in the line 'Top Values' put 3 or however many records you want to display (it depends what you mean by '3 or more'!!)
Base your report on this query.

(I'm sure I have answered this problem recentlty!)
