.ldb file format

Hi ,
Does anyone know the significance of the contents of the
lock file that Access creates?

I have a shared Access database.
Looking at the .ldb , I assume it is the "computer name network login name"

If any1 else accesses teh database his/her "comp name login name" would get added to the file.

It'd be great if anyone could confirm this

Also , does modifying the ldb corrupt it? i tried that to no avail.
woudl appreciate any suggestions
