Hi Guys,

Can any one clarify my doubt...?

In our application we are using MS-Access style Crystal Report.

While creating report (Print / Preview / Save) , the .ldb (MDB Lock File) has been generated.

Situvation 1:
-----------------
When I close out of the Crystal Report Viewer (Suppose when I Used Print Preview)

Situvation 2:
-----------------
When I click Print after that I made Cancel

Situvation 3:
When I Click Save, after Completion of Saving

These are the 3 posibilitie

Usually the lock goes away, But my case, .ldb file doesn't clears.

So Whenever I open Preview for different record It tells error, since lock didn't go away. This is I am facing my application.

I need suggestion for the above problem.

If anyone share your knowledge, your most welcome.

Seeking needful & Prompt response.

Thanks & Regards

Please post the error message.

And just a quick note - every user (including you) must have Read/Write/Delete rights on the folder where the Access file is located or else it can't delete the ldb file.

Pls Can u understand my question.

In Usual behavior No need to delete the lock file, it has been go away after processing. But my case id didn't go away, still exists.

Simply I am asking why it exists, Pls think this aspect, I don't want delete, it will go automatically when my activity (After closing Crystal Report Print Preview / After saving Process Completion / After Print Cancel).

Any how for this need deep R & D.

You have any suggestion tell me.

Advance Thanks
Maha

I DO understand your question and I answered appropriately.

Yes, Access deletes it when the last user is out of the database. You don't understand that it uses the security of that user in order to delete the ldb file. So, if you are the last user out of the database (or you are using Crystal to access the database) and you do not have delete rights on that folder, then Access cannot delete the ldb file because it does not have sufficient rights to do so.

I have 14 years of Access experience so I do have some clue about things like this.

Thanks yaar.

I tested with folder also. It has all the read/write/delete permissions.

But still I am facing the issue.

I guess issue with mapping database to local folder.

Herewith I attached an error message.

Pls you have any idea tell me.

I welcome your valuable quotes & Clues.

Thanks
Maha

What happens when you close Crystal completely? Do you still get the Crystal process running?
