I dont think it's possible to link a table via IP address (Guys/Girls, please correct me if I'm wrong.). It is easy enough to link to an existing table in another Database though. Just go and create a new Table and when the Dialog box appears to create the table in Desing View, Datasheet etc... Choose "Link Table" at the bottom and follow the prompts.

I can't give you details because I haven't done it but:
1. Your network software must support peer-to-peer sharing.
2. The computer that holds the db with the tables must "share" the directory so that the network software can "see" it.
3. In the link dialog box, you need to type in the network address rather than choosing a mapped drive. Use the UNC format:

\\servername\directory path\db name
